Dangote Petroleum Refinery has rubbished speculation that it has halted production or raised petrol prices, insisting Premium Motor Spirit remains ₦850 per litre.
“The refinery is fully operational. There’s been no shutdown,” said Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer Anthony Chiejina.
The Lagos mega-refinery, which processes 650,000 barrels per day, says it’s supplying over 40 million litres of petrol daily alongside steady diesel volumes.
Dangote challenged rumour peddlers to place daily orders for up to 40 million litres of petrol and 15 million litres of diesel for 90 days straight — if they truly believe shortages are coming.
The plant began producing diesel and aviation fuel in January 2024 and started processing petrol in September to slash Nigeria’s reliance on imports.
