2027: Amaechi Sets Condition to Back ADC Presidential Flagbearer

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, says he’s ready to back the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2027 presidential race — but only if the party produces its candidate through a free and fair primary.

Speaking during an X Space discussion titled Weekend Politics, Amaechi declared he would go “all in” for whoever wins the ticket under transparent conditions, promising to “help ADC unseat this current clueless government.”

“In a free and fair primary, whoever wins will have my full support,” Amaechi said, pledging to devote himself fully to the campaign. “I will abandon the coastal road — that road is for stealing.”

He also vowed that electoral reforms would be his “lowest hanging fruit” if elected president, promising sweeping changes within his first six months in office.

The statement has sparked speculation, especially as political heavyweights like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi are rumoured to be eyeing the ADC ticket.
