Nigeria’s D’Tigress are through to the final of the 2025 Women’s AfroBasket after a hard-fought 75-68 win over Senegal in the semi-finals.
The win marks D’Tigress’ ninth straight victory over Senegal and extends their unbeaten run in the competition to 28 games. The reigning champions are now one step closer to securing a fifth consecutive AfroBasket title.
Senegal started strong, taking an early 11-2 lead. But Nigeria responded quickly and ended the first quarter on top, 22-17.
D’Tigress pushed further ahead in the second quarter and led 43-37 at half-time. Senegal came back in the third, turning the game around to lead 54-50.
However, Nigeria stepped up in the final quarter to seal the win and book their place in the final once again.
Rena Wakama’s team remain the favourites to lift the trophy.
