The Anambra State Government has awarded contracts worth approximately ₦3.6 billion Naira for road construction, power, educational, and other infrastructure projects across the state.
This was disclosed in a press by the Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, following the 17th Anambra State Executive Council meeting held in Awka.
Among the key resolutions reached was the restoration of the original name of Abakaliki Street, which was changed to Club Road in 2018. According to Mefor, the decision aims to correct a historic mistake and preserve the street’s cultural and historical relevance.
He also revealed that the power project for the Anambra Mixed-Use Industrial City is nearing completion, marking a major milestone in the activation of the state’s industrial park, which is now being positioned for investment.
