Concerned by worsening insecurity and declining agricultural productivity in Benue South and other parts of the state, the Idoma Association in the USA has renewed its call for urgent and united efforts to protect lives and rebuild the region’s economy.
The association’s National President, Edwin Ochai who made the appeal during the opening ceremony of its 29th Annual Convention today, reiterated the need for Idoma indigenes both at home and in the diaspora to take responsibility for repositioning the region.
Ochai noted that revitalizing agriculture is central to unlocking Benue South’s economic potential which according to him, if properly harnessed, can enhance food security, create youth employment, and stimulate agribusiness across the region.
The three-day convention, focused on development and unity, features strategic discussions on youth empowerment, community partnerships, and engaging the Idoma diaspora in meaningful initiatives.
