Edo Governor Appoints Otono As New Special Adviser on Oil and Gas

Governor of Edo State Monday Okpe-bholo has appointed Barrister Kasimu Otono as his new Special Adviser on Oil and Gas, following the suspension of Felix Isere earlier this week.

The appointment was confirmed today through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor.

According to the statement, Isere was suspended for allegedly soliciting funds without official approval in the name of the Edo State Government ahead of a proposed Oil and Gas Summit scheduled for August 7 in Benin City.

Otono, a seasoned legal practitioner, is also a real estate entrepreneur, philanthropist, and grassroots mobiliser. He is a member of both the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association and currently serves as a Senior Partner at Kay and Kay Legal, a law firm specializing in commercial, real estate, and oil and gas law.

Governor Okpebholo has also directed the suspended aide, Felix Isere, to refund all funds collected from donors and cautioned the public against conducting any further business with him.
