The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration exercise for the 2025 general elections will officially kick off on August 18.
INEC revealed that the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to ensure eligible Nigerians are able to participate in the upcoming polls and online pre-registration will open through its official website, allowing citizens to begin the process digitally before completing it in person. The online portal will serve as the first step for new registrants and those seeking updates to their voter details.
The commission stated that physical, in-person registration is scheduled to begin on August 25 and will take place across the country at designated registration centres, including INEC’s local government offices.
The voter registration process will run from Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and INEC is urging citizens to take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the democratic process.
